Tattoo aftercare is crucial to ensure proper healing and maintain the vibrancy of your new ink. Using our tattoo balm can be beneficial in keeping your tattoo moisturized and aiding the healing process. Here are step-by-step instructions for tattoo aftercare using our tattoo balm.

**Day 1: Initial Care**

1. **Leave the Wrap On**

Your tattoo may be covered with a protective saniderm wrap or black bandage. If it is a saniderm wrap leave it on for 3-7 days. If it is a black bandage leave it on for 4-8 hours

. It is normal for bandage to have air bubbles or fluid built up in it.

2. **Gently Wash Your Tattoo**

When removing it’s best to do it in the shower under warm water and fragrance-free soap. After removing the wrap, gently wash your tattooed area with lukewarm water and a fragrance-free soap. Gently pat it dry with a clean, soft towel.

**Days 2-14: Tattoo Balm Application**

1. **Wash Your Hands**

Before touching your tattoo, always wash your hands thoroughly to prevent the transfer of dirt or bacteria.

2. **Apply Tattoo Balm**

Using clean fingers, apply a thin layer of the balm to your tattooed area. Gently massage it in until it’s fully absorbed. Repeat this process 2-3 times a day or as recommended by your tattoo artist.

3. **Don’t Overapply**

Using too much balm can suffocate the tattoo and prolong the healing process. A little goes a long way.

4. **Avoid Immersion**

For the first two weeks, avoid submerging your tattoo in water. This means no swimming pools, hot tubs, or long baths.

5. **Loose Clothing**

Wear loose, clean clothing over the tattooed area to prevent friction and irritation.

6. **No Scratching or Picking**

It’s normal for your tattoo to itch as it heals, but avoid scratching or picking at it. Doing so can damage the healing skin and potentially affect the ink.

7. **Avoid Sun Exposure**

Keep your tattoo out of direct sunlight as much as possible. If you need to be in the sun, use a high SPF sunscreen to protect it.

**Beyond Day 14: Ongoing Care**

1. **Moisturize Sparingly**

After the initial healing period, you can reduce the frequency of balm application. Gradually transition to using a mild, unscented lotion to keep the tattoo moisturized.

2. **Protect from Sun**

Always use sunscreen with a high SPF when exposing your tattoo to sunlight. Sunburn can fade and damage the tattoo.

Remember

Every tattoo and individual healing process can vary. It’s important to follow the advice of your tattoo artist. With proper care, your tattoo will heal beautifully and stay vibrant for years to come.
